Opening Reception:
December 5, Saturday, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

As our special end-of-year celebration, Re:View Contemporary Gallery will be hosting the Opening Reception for Re:Collect, a group exhibit showcasing works by 20 Detroit area artists. The works, which observe a size limit of 12” x 12” x 12”, and include painting, sculpture, and mixed media, are by artists Adam Shirley, Amina Horozic, Andy Kem, Asha Vida, Brad Richards, Cal Navin, Cedric Tai, Chris Donnely, Chris Lujan, Coley McLean, Dennis Hayes IV, Emily Duke, Ian Swanson, Jaap Weve, Kate Silvio, Lana Rahme, Mark Dancey, Oneita Porter, Robert Sestok, Simone DeSousa, and Taurus Burns.

This event also marks the celebration of the gallery’s first year anniversary and opening to the public our new extended spaces: a NEW Exhibitions Gallery (hosting the show Re:Collect), Commercial Gallery (presenting works by artists represented by the gallery), and a NEW Design Store (showcasing art and functional items by local designers).

The Opening Reception and end-of-year celebration event will take place Saturday, December 5, from 5 pm – 10 pm and will include food, drinks, and a special cello performance by Diana Nucera (7 pm). Re:Collect runs from December 5 – December 24, 2009, and January 14 – January 30, 2010.
